In preparation for the G7 summit, parts of Geneva are temporarily transformed by protective barriers installed in front of shops, banks and public buildings. Photographed with a rigorous and frontal approach, the images emphasize the order and precision of the Swiss urban landscape, where defensive structures appear as unexpected elements within an otherwise controlled and familiar environment.
The photographs do not depict protest, conflict or unrest. Instead, they focus on the tension that precedes them: a moment suspended between everyday life and anticipation, where precaution becomes part of the architecture and where the visible traces of an event appear before the event itself.
